Challenges and Solutions for Integrated Die Casting Spraying
Three major challenges that integrated die-casting brings to the spraying process:
一:Difficulty in ensuring the uniformity of spraying on the surface of ultra-large molds
The projected area of integrated die-casting molds can reach 2-3 square meters, and traditional single-sided spraying or fixed nozzle arrays are prone to insufficient liquid supply at the edges and overspray in the center. Uneven coating can lead to local mold sticking, flow marks on the casting surface, and in severe cases, even cause difficulty in demolding.
二: Difficulty in covering deep cavities and complex internal structures
Large die-castings often integrate various features such as reinforcing ribs, mounting bosses, and deep grooves. The spray angle of ordinary nozzles is fixed, making it difficult to simultaneously cover the bottom and sidewalls of deep holes; if the flow rate is simply increased, it is prone to cause liquid accumulation at the bottom, affecting the quality of the castings.
三:The consumption of mold release agent has surged, with both cost and environmental protection pressures being high
As the surface area of the mold increases exponentially, the consumption of mold release agent also rises significantly. Some enterprises reported that the cost of mold release agent per mold for integrated die-cast parts is 3-5 times that of traditional small and medium-sized parts. Meanwhile, the cost of waste liquid treatment has increased, and the pressure for environmental compliance has intensified.
Geliwa's Perspective: How Modularization Tooling and Precision Nozzles Break the Deadlock
Uniform spraying for ultra-large molds —— Modularization spraying tooling + zonal control
Our company's modularized spraying tooling supports dividing large molds into multiple independent spraying areas, with each area being handled by a dedicated tooling module. Each module can independently adjust the flow rate and spray angle, achieving "precise compensation by area".
For deep cavities and complex structures —— Adjustable flow rate sprinkler + fan nozzle combination
Our adjustable flow rate sprinkler can adjust the output flow rate in real time. When used in conjunction with a fan-shaped nozzle that extends into the deep cavity for internal spraying, it can cover the sidewalls while avoiding liquid accumulation at the bottom. For particularly long and slender blind holes, a customized nozzle with an extension rod can also be selected.
For excessive release agent usage - Undiluted solution sprinkler irrigation + micro spraying technology
Our company's neat liquid spraying system is specifically designed for high-viscosity neat release agent, supporting micro-spraying (the amount per mold can be controlled within 1/5 - 1/3 of that of traditional diluted spraying). Through fine atomization (SMD ≤ 35μm), the neat liquid can directly and evenly cover the mold surface, significantly reducing release agent consumption and waste liquid generation. Some customers have already applied neat liquid spraying to integrated die-cast parts, resulting in a 45% reduction in the overall cost of release agents.
